چکیده

Gastrointestinal parasitism is a global problem for grazing ruminants which can be addressed in sustainable way through breeding animals to more resistant disease. This study estimates the genetic parameters of common and new disease phenotypes associated with natural nematode coccidian infection Scottish Blackface sheep underpin future improvement strategies parasite control. Data on faecal egg counts (FEC) from different species strongyle parasites oocyst (FOC) were collected 3-month-old lambs together soiling score breech area dagginess (DAG) live weight (LWT). Faecal count data obtained Strongyles (FECS), Nematodirus (FECN) Coccidia (FOC). 3 731 sampled between 2011 2017 included. Age-dependent quantitative trait loci affecting growth traits in Scottish Blackface sheep.

To dissect age-dependent quantitative trait loci (QTL) associated with growth and to examine changes in QTL effects over time, the Gompertz growth model was fitted to longitudinal live weight data on 788 Scottish Blackface lambs from nine half-sib families. QTL were mapped for model parameters and weekly live weights and growth rates using microsatellite markers on chromosomes 1, 2, 3, 5, 14, 1...

Estimation of (co) variance components and genetic parameters for growth traits in Arman sheep

(Co) variance components and genetic parameters for growth traits in Arman sheep were estimated, using data collected during an 11-year period (1999-2010), by applying the restricted maximum likelihood (REML) procedure under univariate and bivariate animal models. The studied traits were body weight of lamb at birth (BW), body weight at 3 months of age as weaning weight (WW), body weight at 6 m...

Genetic Parameters of Direct and Maternal Effects for Growth Traits of Afshari Sheep

The genetic parameters and (co) variance components of body weight at birth (BW), weaning (WW) and six months of age (BW6) and average daily gain (ADG) pre and post-weaning of Afshari sheep were estimated using restricted maximum likelihood (REML) methodology and animal model implemented in DFREML software. The likelihood ratio test (LRT) was used to compare the models. Year of birth, age of mo...

(Co)variance components and genetic parameters for growth traits in Arabi sheep using different animal models.

The objective of the present study was to estimate genetic parameters for body weight at different ages in Arabi sheep using data collected from 1999 to 2009. Investigated traits consisted of birth weight (N = 2776), weaning weight (N = 2002) and weight at six months of age (N = 1885). The data were analyzed using restricted maximum likelihood analysis, by fitting univariate and multivaria...

Estimates of genetic parameters for growth traits in Kermani sheep.

Birth weight (BW), weaning weight (WW), 6-month weight (W6), 9-month weight (W9) and yearling weight (YW) of Kermani lambs were used to estimate genetic parameters. The data were collected from Shahrbabak Sheep Breeding Research Station in Iran during the period of 1993-1998. The fixed effects in the model were lambing year, sex, type of birth and age of dam. Number of days between birth date a...
